Fashion in the Family

    * I know a passion for fashion is not a trait that can be inherited by blood or passed along by marriage but is it a coincidence that mother, sisters and aunt are/were in the fashion business?
  ** I received 3 dresses from my aunt's ready-to-wear line. She owns Oosure Shapes & Sizes Couture.

Mullet Dress: Black & Purple

   * This is my interpretation of a mullet dress: business in the front (pencil skirt) and party in the back (circle skirt) - woo hoo!!!!! There are several ways to wear it; here's 5.

Fish-tail/Mermaid Skirts

    * I don't know what it is about fish-tail or mermaid style skirts but it makes ladies feel really pretty. Maybe it's the way it fits and then flares. I made 3 of such skirts in the space of about a month for 3 ladies and I think it is time to make one for me :)

Ms. J's Skirt - I really like the fabric and the way the ombré is set up.

She was going to wear it with a pale pink top but I must say the black top works great!!

Ms. N's High-Waist Skirt - This was an express request and was done in about 3 days.

I paired it with a blue blouse on the mannequin but Ms. N wore it with a white blouse.

Criss-Cross Pencil Skirt

   * This is one of the first pencil skirts I ever made so I'm going to start by saying 'Yay!!! It still fits; 3 years later'. I had remnants from sewing another outfit for a friend's wedding (will create a post on that one later) and I decided to do something with all the bits and pieces I had left. The top was made for the wedding.
