Fish-tail/Mermaid Skirts

    * I don't know what it is about fish-tail or mermaid style skirts but it makes ladies feel really pretty. Maybe it's the way it fits and then flares. I made 3 of such skirts in the space of about a month for 3 ladies and I think it is time to make one for me :)

Ms. J's Skirt - I really like the fabric and the way the ombré is set up.

She was going to wear it with a pale pink top but I must say the black top works great!!

Ms. N's High-Waist Skirt - This was an express request and was done in about 3 days.

I paired it with a blue blouse on the mannequin but Ms. N wore it with a white blouse.

Criss-Cross Pencil Skirt

   * This is one of the first pencil skirts I ever made so I'm going to start by saying 'Yay!!! It still fits; 3 years later'. I had remnants from sewing another outfit for a friend's wedding (will create a post on that one later) and I decided to do something with all the bits and pieces I had left. The top was made for the wedding.

LBAFD: Little Black African Flag Dress

    * New take on the LBD from Zi: this little black dress has exposed seams lined with the 4 colors popular on the flags of African countries: Red, Blue, Yellow and Green. It is also made to fit your curves to a 'C'.

Box Pleats, Drop-Waist, V-Neck ... One Dress

    * My birthday is in August (yay!!!!!!!!) and I wanted something really special for the first Sunday of August. So here's my dress of firsts: first dress I've made with box pleats, first dress I've made with a drop waist and first dress I've made with a v-neck.

Velvet Border Skirt

  * It's called the 'Border Skirt' because the fun details are in the top and bottom borders. This is one way to show your love for Ankara fabric without wearing an entire Ankara outfit. Dress it up, dress it down ... still gorgeous and it'll go perfectly with your clutch from The African Fascinator.

    * This was my second peplum top ever and with it, I wanted to try a hi-low (or asymmetrical) hem. Since I have a sizable bum, having a longer hem at the back suits my silhouette just fine :).
