Red & Gold: Lace Circle Skirt with Scalloped Hem

* This 3-tier skirt was made from red and gold African lace fabric that had a scalloped edge. If you know how to make a circle skirt, you know that there's no easy way to keep the scalloped edge. My fix was to cut off the scalloped edge, gather it and sew it to the skirt and it worked! :)

Purses and Clutches .. Oh My!

    * If you've been keeping up with my posts, you'll remember this one on coin purses. Well, I've gone a little bigger :). Below are pictures of purses/clutches (I don't know the difference) I've made so far. Next up, I want to attempt some handbags with straps, box clutches and something about a diamond bag ... stay tuned.

This one is a placemat refashion project.

This one was a birthday present for a special doctor.
The blue of Zi's dress is really striking in these pictures. Blog post about the dress is here.

This one was a birthday present for my pastor. :)
It matches a dress I made for her.

First Sight-Unseen Custom Order

  * I was at Ms. R's house for a final fitting of her most recent outfits (one-shouldered peplum top, pencil skirt and shorts) when Ms. W called. Ms. R told Ms. W to get in touch with me for an outfit for a wedding and below is the result. The special thing is that the outfit was made without ever seeing Ms. W; she sent me her measurements, the lace fabric, a picture of the top she wanted and a skirt she wanted to duplicate. I sent her a picture of the coordinating fabric options before buying and the final outfit before delivery, she wanted the skirt shorter, I cut, hemmed and sent another picture. In the end, she texted: "It fits perfectly ... people liked the outfit". Mission accomplished. :)

Blue Gorgeousness: Crop Top to Dress

    * Remember the Ankara crop top from this post with the matching pants? You do? Good. Not sure when the decision was made but it was turned into the elegant dress you see below. The dress has an asymmetric hemline that is short at the sides and long at the back and front. It is really gorgeous when you twirl and when it catches the breeze just right.
